Apparently the plot of TLJ bears a quite striking resemblance to a kylo ren/reader fic trilogy called signs and smoke signals by @streetsolo.

The author has repeatedly clarified that the reader is not supposed to be Rey and she is not a fan of Reylo in general (or TLJ for that matter) but for some reason a lot of plot points from that fic are in TLJ with Rey in the place of the Reader.
^^^ That. It’s really weird and I still don’t know what to say but either way OP is totally right, like I wrote it as a fanfic. It’s supposed to stay a fanfic, like there shouldn’t be so many elements of my story in TLJ, even if it’s just a coincidence.
the fanfic started in january 2016 and ended in november 2016
the last jedi was filmed between february 2016 and july 2016
it makes for a funny story but its a pretty falsifiable theory
